FM Magazine

FM Magazine is a young adult fashion journal that focuses on alternative editorial fashion made by LGBTQ artists and designers. The goal of the project was to build a brand application that demonstrated my ability to establish continuity.

FM's target demographic is young individuals aged 24–29 who enjoy alternative fashion and consider themselves edgy and fun.

A colour scheme of blues and yellows was used to build cohesion within FM, and it was applied to headlines and pull quotes to assist generating a fun atmosphere. Type was handled in a variety of ways, the most noticeable of which was the use of two distinct fonts, one san serif for the body and headings and another handwritten san serif for pull quotes. This variation pushed us toward a more fun tone. Finally, the asymmetrical layout, which produced movement and direction, contributed to the magazine's edgy atmosphere. These elements working together assisted us in reaching our target demographic.
